Make Santa in 3Hours using 3dsmaxHi guys,

here is one of the Christmas treats.  In this video I make Santa for a fast production of an illustration. After I made Santa I also made reindeer, sleigh, Christmas trees and a snow globe to put them all in.

Check the post for download links and more information.

I have not recorded any sound, since in real production you don’t talk to an audience, but most likely listen to music. I have used no refs, just started modeling from the top of my head and the purpose of the video is to show the process for something like this in real-world production, in real-time. Modeling, rigging and materials for a vividly colored image. No facial rig and modeled in the neutral expression for future rigging.

NOTE: You have to download all parts since they are part of the same archive, once downloaded you can use WinRAR to unzip them

Video is HD 720p.

Thanks for checking this out, share with your friends using the links below and leave a comment. Next-Up “Reaper Kid” Photoshop break-down and then more Christmas and Futuristic Trooper Creation.

Cheers

excelente tutorial estão de parabéns o rig final ficou ótimo mas acho que o phisycs ainda é uma melhor opção do que os vertex mas fora isso o tutorial esta ótimo e para quem esta começando jah é meio caminho andado.. parabéns!

Physique hasn’t been updated in years, the way in which it deals with the hierarchy (it includes all bones attached) is not ideal, especially if you have to make a facial rig or have more limbs,
    Thanks for your feedback.

    Translation of above comment:

    excellent tutorial, congratulations

the final rig was great, but I think the phisyque modifier is still a better option than the vertex,
but other than that the tutorial is great and for someone who is starting out it is halfway there

    .. congrats!

    Hello Saint Kostas :-)

My English is not well. So I hope you understand me.
Thank you very much. Your tutorial is excellent.
I learn 3Ds Max newly. Your tutorial is very helpful for me. I learned a lot. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

I write my comment for your tutorial in order to help other people. But I am rookie. So my comment is maybe simple or maybe comic.

    * My comment for the tutorial :
    - Firstly, I liked this tutorial very much. I would recommend everyones.
    - Tutor use 3Ds Max 2011 version (good for rookie).
    - Tutorial video is good quality (HD format).
    - Maybe Video dont have any sound. But tutor is very good (pardon excellent :-) ). Mouse movement is good speed (not so slow or so fast). Tutor show selected command clearly.
    - Tutor show lots of drawing techniques, rigging and rendering.

    * My recommend for tutorial :
I think that you should write short subtitle for this video. Then your tutorial is more understandable.

I will download your Chaos tutorial. I am sure that your Chaos tutorial is excellent. I will follow your website regularly.

    Sincerely,
    Erhan
